About The Position

The Hatchery – Chick Delivery Driver is responsible for loading and unloading chicks and delivering them safely to the farms from the Hatchery. The driver is responsible for ensuring chicks are delivered on a timely basis and are correctly placed in the grower’s houses.

Requirements

• Current valid Class A - CDL license.
• Current valid medical certificate from an examiner on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
• 2 years of verifiable driving experience with a Representative Vehicle; or 1 year of verifiable driving experience with a Representative Vehicle and a certificate of successful completion from reputable driving school program of at least 40 hours.
• Must meet requirements established by George’s Fleet Safety Program, insurance company requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMSCSR).
• Reading, writing and mathematical comprehension.
• Proficiency in English

Responsibilities

• Complete truck inspection and fill out inspection sheet prior to leaving on the first load.
• Ensure truck is kept in good conditions, clean and fueled.
• Maintain work records, logs, timesheets, and trip reports.
• Monitor trailer environment to ensure chick comfort.
• Unload birds in such a way to ensure traceability once delivered.
• Follow all local, State and Federal DOT Regulations.
• Follow all Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Principals.
• Follow Animal Welfare Guidelines and Company Policies.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
