About The Position
Ron Marhofer Automall Group is hiring a top-tier master automotive technician for Marhofer Chevrolet in Stow, Ohio. The role focuses on expert diagnostics and repairs across vehicle systems while mentoring junior technicians and ensuring factory repair standards are met. The position pays $30.00–$41.00 per hour and advertises a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, with payout amounts and timing based on technician tier and retention milestones. Technicians diagnose and repair vehicle systems, conduct multi-point inspections, provide labor estimates, document repair and diagnostic work, and ensure completed repairs meet factory specifications. The role also includes serving as a shop leader and supporting the development of junior technicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.
- ASE Certification and Manufacturer Certification.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, brake, and electrical systems.
- Maintain ASE certifications A1–A9, covering engine, transmission, drive train, suspension, brakes, electrical, HVAC, engine performance, and light vehicle diesel engines.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic vehicles.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Associate degree or completion of an accredited Automotive Technology program.
- Dealership-level experience leading a shop or mentoring technicians.
- Advanced diesel engine repair experience.
- Multiple manufacturer certifications across domestic and import vehicles.
- Proven shop leadership and mentoring ability.
- Advanced computer diagnostic proficiency.
- Exceptional customer satisfaction focus.
- Strong teamwork orientation in support of technicians and service advisors in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead as Shop Leader and mentor junior technicians to foster their professional growth and development.
- Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, brake, electrical, HVAC, and diesel systems.
- Perform thorough multi-point inspections to evaluate vehicles.
- Provide accurate labor estimates.
- Document repairs and diagnostics accurately.
- Ensure repairs meet factory specifications.
