About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated After School Instructors to lead our Chess and STEM programs for students in grades K-5. This role involves facilitating engaging and educational sessions that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love for learning in a fun, after-school environment. Classes typically run in 60-minute blocks between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a K-5 age range.
• Knowledge of Chess and/or STEM concepts.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create and deliver engaging lesson plans.
• Reliable transportation to various site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as an after-school instructor.
• Formal training or certification in Chess or STEM education.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, a STEM field, or a related area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct Chess and STEM classes for students in grades K-5.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with program goals.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program coordinators.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Facilitate mini-camps and field trips as required.
