About The Position

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Educated and trained in general Chemistry skills.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Three years of relevant experience.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to teaching assistants regarding supplies, equipment, experiments, and safety.
  • Set up and maintain the on-line learning management system.
  • Coordinate scheduled laboratory experiments supporting fall and spring semesters, and summer sessions for specific chemistry courses (CHE 1100, 1101, 1102, 1146, 1405).
  • Supervise the calculation and preparation of solutions and reagents.
  • Maintain and inventory chemicals required for labs.
  • Order chemicals and supplies as required.
  • Supervise lab safety and cleanliness.
  • Maintain and supervise the use of shared-use equipment and instrumentation.
  • In cooperation with Environmental Health & Safety, oversee the use and safe disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Under the direction of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty, develop and perfect new laboratory exercises.
  • Assist in developing annual budget requests for equipment and supplies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
  • Comply with university policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
