About The Position

Baylor University, a Christian research university with a rich history, is seeking a Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator to support day-to-day introductory and general teaching labs within the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. Requirements

Educated and trained in general Chemistry skills.
Self-starter.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A bachelor’s degree.
Three years of relevant experience.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Provide support to teaching assistants regarding supplies, equipment, experiments, and safety.
Set up and maintain the on-line learning management system.
Coordinate scheduled laboratory experiments supporting fall and spring semesters, and summer sessions for specific chemistry courses (CHE 1100, 1101, 1102, 1146, 1405).
Supervise the calculation and preparation of solutions and reagents.
Maintain and inventory chemicals required for labs.
Order chemicals and supplies as required.
Supervise lab safety and cleanliness.
Maintain and supervise the use of shared-use equipment and instrumentation.
In cooperation with Environmental Health & Safety, oversee the use and safe disposal of hazardous materials.
Under the direction of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty, develop and perfect new laboratory exercises.
Assist in developing annual budget requests for equipment and supplies.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
Comply with university policies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
