About The Position

Franklin International is seeking a Chemical Process Control Technician for a full-time, third-shift, entry-level position. The role is intended for candidates with technical education or applicable experience and involves monitoring, interpreting, and responding to field instrumentation and process-control information during adhesive manufacturing. The technician continuously monitors multiple simultaneous processes through computer screens and alarm panels, makes control decisions, and directs manufacturing personnel in support of production. The position works closely with Process Engineers and contributes to process optimization, analysis, and improvement.

Requirements

Associate's degree in a technical field, preferably with coursework in chemistry, electronics, and/or computer science, or applicable experience.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with statistical process controls.
Familiarity with computer programming.

Responsibilities

Monitor continuous-processing feedback across multiple computer screens and panels for manufacturing on multiple production vessels and lines.
Interpret process feedback and make control decisions.
Enter commands through computer terminals and activate controls on computers and peripheral equipment to integrate and operate manufacturing equipment.
Direct plant operators in performing manual operations.
Provide process-improvement and standardization suggestions to Process Engineers and chemists.
Suggest potential programming parameter changes or upgrades to controls technicians and Process Engineers.
Provide production management with feedback on plant operator performance, schedule compliance, yield, and first-pass rates.
Use statistical process control techniques to review, analyze, and report production against standards, uptime, mean time between failures, and overall operating effectiveness.
Analyze real-time and run-time batch data using JMP.
Verify process improvements and help optimize existing processes, including time, temperature, and speed.
