About The Position

Join the Daubert Chemical team as an Operator at our family-owned chemical manufacturing plant. With a team of 125 employees, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive environment where each person plays a vital role in our success. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for mixing and blending product batches with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork. The Operator works with chemical processing equipment to formulate standard or custom products according to product specifications. Every day the Operator will track the production schedule, follow batch sheet instructions to accurately and efficiently set up, weigh, measure, and mix raw materials in proper sequence. Next the Operator will add ingredients either manually or with pumps and meters, accurately record the required information on the batch sheet, and submit samples to QA. Finally, the Operator will prepare approved finished product for the container and label it for shipping. Overall, the Operator must be adept in learning and safely executing formulating procedures for the Production Department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of chemical manufacturing experience in a batch environment with chemical reactions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Works well within a team and able to follow specific directions.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude; manufacturing experience with valves, pumps, flow meters, condensers, sensors, PLC's, filters, etc.
  • Good problem-solving ability; makes efficient use of time within shift directives.
  • Be able to demonstrate accurate math calculations.
  • Ability to be trained and safely operate a forklift.
  • Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected and required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Mixing and blending product batches with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Track the production schedule.
  • Follow batch sheet instructions to accurately and efficiently set up, weigh, measure, and mix raw materials in proper sequence.
  • Add ingredients either manually or with pumps and meters.
  • Accurately record the required information on the batch sheet.
  • Submit samples to QA.
  • Prepare approved finished product for the container and label it for shipping.
  • Learn and safely execute formulating procedures for the Production Department.
  • Perform activities to safely clean, secure and maintain equipment and work areas as required.
  • Participate in housekeeping (e.g. sweep, mop, dust, put items away in proper areas) in the facility according to 5S.
  • Follow, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment.
  • Use of a respirator is required for certain batches.
  • Troubleshoot problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and make required adjustments as needed.
