About The Position

This role involves the safe loading and unloading of materials into and out of various transport vehicles such as railcars, tank trucks, and Isotainers. The operator will also be trained as a Chemical Operator for the Amines Manufacturing Unit. Key responsibilities include matching the loading schedule to the bill of lading, verifying weights, completing all necessary documentation and SAP activities, and ensuring proper positioning and securing of transport vehicles at the loading rack. A critical aspect of the job is the visual inspection of railcars or trucks to ensure mechanical soundness and that all equipment is free of defects before product transfer. The operator must also check the vessel for its last product, confirm cleanliness and dryness, and verify that the vessel is within all regulatory certification test dates. Additional duties include moving railcars, assisting other loaders, wearing required personal protective equipment (including respirators and fresh air equipment), connecting and disconnecting hoses, and loading/unloading according to instructions while monitoring gauges and strapping tables. The operator must ensure that outages do not exceed Department of Transportation (DOT) certification limits and that the gross weight after loading does not exceed regulations. Communication with the facility supervisor regarding any issues is essential. The role also requires familiarization with the Amines Manufacturing Unit's layout, operations, Standard Operating Procedures, Facility Safety Procedures, and equipment. Active participation in the Bucks Plant Emergency Response Team is a condition of employment, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

  • A High School Diploma and five years of experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing; or graduation from a recognized Community College/Technical School with appropriate degree/certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis without restriction.
  • Must successfully complete a medical examination (including drug screen).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
  • Must successfully complete a security background check in accordance with U.S. DOT/Homeland Security guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Safely loads/unloads material into/out of railcars/tank trucks/Isotainers.
  • Trains as a Chemical Operator for the Amines Manufacturing Unit.
  • Matches loading schedule to bill of lading.
  • Verifies weight of railcar/truck prior to product transfer.
  • Completes all loading record documentation.
  • Completes all SAP activities.
  • Ensures that truck/railcar is positioned and secured at proper loading rack.

  • Moves railcars and assists other loaders in maintaining an organized railyard.
  • Wears all required protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air equipment.
  • Connects loading/unloading hoses.
  • Loads railcar/truck/Isotainer according to loading instructions using gauges and/or strapping tables.
  • Ensures that outages do not exceed Department of Transportation (DOT) certification for the particular vessel being loaded.
  • Checks weight of railcar/truck/Isotainer after loading to ensure gross weight does not exceed regulations.
  • Communicates with facility supervisor on any problems as they occur.
  • Disconnects loading arm/hose, secures all openings, inspects for any leaks, and completes required paperwork prior to releasing the railcar/truck/Isotainer.
  • Familiarizes self and becomes proficient with the layout and operation of Amines Manufacturing Unit including all Standard Operating Procedures, Facility Safety Procedures, equipment location and operation.
  • Actively participates in the Bucks Plant Emergency Response Team.
  • Safely and proficiently completes any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
