The Chemical Engineer II will play a key role in advancing RASIRC’s high-purity chemical manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on scaling, optimization, and operational excellence. Building on foundational engineering experience, this role independently supports process development, high-volume manufacturing (HVM) readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives, particularly for BRUTE Hydrazine commercialization efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (required)
  • 5–8 years of relevant industry experience (semiconductor or high-purity chemical manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong understanding of chemical process design, scale-up, and optimization
  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals and high-purity systems
  • Familiarity with ISO-certified manufacturing environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
  • Experience with process control systems and data logging tools
  • Ability to travel (~10%) as needed
  • Ability to work in controlled environments while following all safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Ability to lift approximately 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operation, monitoring, and optimization of chemical process systems producing high-purity specialty chemicals
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements
  • Support advanced troubleshooting of complex chemical and mechanical systems
  • Take ownership of key portions of HVM plant readiness and scale-up activities
  • Lead process validation, qualification, and transition to commercial production
  • Collaborate on system design improvements and capital projects
  • Analyze production and quality data to drive process improvements and yield optimization
  • Develop detailed technical reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and reliability
  • Drive updates to SOPs, work instructions, and best practices
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols involving hazardous chemicals
  • Lead or participate in Hazard Reviews, PHA/HAZOP activities
  • Maintain compliance with ISO and semiconductor industry standards
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process and equipment issues
  • Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to improve system reliability
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians
  • Support training and knowledge transfer across teams
