About The Position

This full-time position functions as a clinician in the counseling of patients, conducting evening therapy sessions, and developing treatment plans. The role involves obtaining authorizations from managed care organizations to ensure reimbursement, and coordinating/implementing operational policies and procedures for the program. The therapist will represent the program to managed care companies, establish external contacts for chemical dependency health education services, and identify, investigate, and resolve client-related problems. Maintaining high clinical quality and outcomes is a key responsibility. The position also includes participation in departmental teaching and research activities as appropriate, and performing other related duties.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field of study
  • Four years' experience in clinical substance abuse counseling and education required.
  • Certified in counseling substance abuse patients (Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including use of word processing and spreadsheet programs
