About The Position

This role focuses on providing social services within the chemical dependency field. The position requires specific state certification/licensure, particularly a North Carolina license (LCAS), and experience working with the opiate-addicted population. A key aspect of the role involves conducting assessments, utilizing ASI criteria for patient placement, developing and implementing treatment plans, coordinating services, and intervening in crisis situations. The position also demands comprehensive knowledge of local drug trends, the physiological and cognitive effects of substance abuse, signs of overdose, the psychosocial aspects of addiction, the addiction and treatment process, and the intricacies of social service, economic, legal, and medical systems, as well as HIV transmission and its implications.

Requirements

  • Required/Maintained State Certification/Licensure or be in the process of obtaining Certification/License
  • North Carolina license (LCAS)
  • Experience working with opiate addicted population
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Skilled in conducting assessments, utilization of ASI criteria for appropriate patient placement, treatment plan development and implementation, service coordination, and crisis intervention
  • Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects on the body and cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social service, economic, legal, and medical systems, HIV transmission-health, behavioral, and emotional implications of addiction.
