About The Position

At Taher, we are seeking a Chef-Manager to join our rapidly growing team. This role involves guiding staff in delivering exceptional guest service, scratch cooking, and food production, while also overseeing catering events. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail in managing food and labor costs to achieve outstanding profitability. A hands-on leadership style is essential for effective teaching and training of staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a culinary environment
  • Current ServSAFE certification
  • Ability to understand and positively impact P&L statements, cost of sales, food cost, and inventory control
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer skills with knowledge of MS office products
  • Ability to function and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with exposition cooking preferred
  • Catering experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily service and culinary operations, which may include retail and catering services for the assigned unit.
  • Maintain full accountability for the culinary management of the operation, including purchasing, inventory, receiving, and production.
  • Hire, schedule, train, and mentor staff.
  • Maintain proper production, safety, and sanitation standards per corporate, state, and Federal requirements.
  • Evaluate the quality of raw food and ensure the quality of the finished product.
  • Perform in a high-energy environment.
  • Create and oversee the execution of weekly menus.
  • Provide superior customer service skills, interacting daily with customers and clients.
  • Meet office deadlines, including keying of invoices and weekly/monthly reporting responsibilities.
  • Control revenue and expenses to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Perform all other duties requested by the leadership team.
