About The Position

Caterlink is seeking a Chef Manager for a position at New Islington. The role involves ensuring nutritionally balanced and tasty food is provided to students and staff. This is a term-time only position, working 38 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work, offering flexibility. Requirements

  • Experience in preparing, cooking, and presenting food.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislations.
  • Experience in managing inventories and monitoring budgets.
  • Ability to supervise teams and manage performance.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and line managers.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
  • Ensure the location meets statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislations.
  • Enhance Caterlink's reputation for excellent food and service by exceeding client and customer expectations.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the location, including supervising teams, managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the school client, recommending and implementing adjustments and improvements.
  • Communicate with the line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
  • Support and train teams, leading by example, ensuring training completion and performance management.
