This is an entry-level, hands-on, training position where the individual will learn how to create and participate in an environment where guests, staff, and volunteers are well cared for using the cornerstones of service, food, and systems. The role is responsible for all aspects of typical food production, including cleaning, fixing and troubleshooting equipment, prep work, shift leadership, and cooking meals. This role consumes 95% of time and seasonally will require 100% of available hours. The position requires a commitment to Young Life's Christian purposes and a willingness to minister as a servant of God, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. Staff must be able to convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and concern for guests and staff, responding promptly and professionally to unexpected needs. All staff members are expected to represent Young Life positively and professionally within the community and be able to work with and minister to the volunteer high school and college-age young people who attend our camp.
