Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, project management, finance, etc.)
  • Five to seven years of experience in the energy sector, including solid experience in renewable energy project development, project financing, or asset management.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) in both oral and written communication.
  • Location in Quebec, ideally in Montreal or Quebec City.
  • Availability to travel in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada approximately 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development activities of various projects across Canada, with a particular focus on the Quebec market.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders for each project, building strong relationships and fostering teamwork.
  • Develop and manage budgets, while identifying and mitigating risks, to ensure successful project development.
  • Identify new project opportunities in collaboration with the management team.
  • Meet development milestones by managing risks, optimizing value, and keeping projects within budget.
  • Conduct project analyses, integrate technical knowledge into cost optimization analyses, and reflect them in financial models.
  • Collaborate closely with the Quebec/Canada development team to deepen market understanding.
  • Work closely with the finance team to integrate Canadian project data into financial models and renewable energy analyses.
  • Execute and optimize development projects in coordination with management, ensuring rapid decision-making, mobilizing stakeholders as needed, and tracking risks, timelines, and budgets.
  • Build and maintain a baseline financial model for early-stage projects to assess project returns.
  • Coordinate project progress with internal teams: permits, land development, prospecting, meteorology, engineering and construction, transport, stakeholder relations, legal, finance, accounting, operations, asset management, and others, to ensure optimal support.
  • Support internal deliverables for the board of directors, budget processes, RELAY activities, and monitoring and reporting mechanisms for the projects concerned.
  • Contribute to the creation of new project development opportunities, in coordination with management.
  • Mentor junior members of the development team.
