As the Cheese Specialist, your role involves assisting customers with their cheese selections, providing recommendations, and ensuring the cheese department is well-stocked and organized. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a cheese-related role, such as cheese counter clerk or specialty cheese shop assistant.
• Knowledge of cheese varieties, production methods, and flavor profiles.
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Understanding of different types of cheeses, including varieties, origins, and flavor profiles.
• Knowledge of cheese production methods and aging processes.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and guidelines for cheese handling and storage.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and providing personalized recommendations.
• Ability to convey information about cheeses in a clear and engaging manner.
• Precision in handling and displaying cheese products to maintain quality and freshness.
• Skill in managing inventory and keeping the cheese department well-stocked and organized.
• Genuine enthusiasm for cheese and a desire to share that passion with others.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing customer preferences and market trends.
• Ability to create appealing cheese displays and promotions to attract customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting cheeses based on their preferences, dietary needs, and intended use.
• Provide information and recommendations on different types of cheeses, including flavor profiles, origins, and pairings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cheese department, including rotating stock and ensuring proper storage conditions.
• Order and receive cheese shipments, inspecting products for quality and freshness.
• Create attractive cheese displays and signage to highlight featured cheeses and promotions.
• Sample and taste cheeses to stay knowledgeable about new products and offerings.
• Educate customers about cheese tasting techniques and hosting cheese tastings or events.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage product ordering to ensure adequate stock levels.
