About The Position

Gossner Foods is seeking a Cheese Packaging Operator to package and prepare cheese products. The role involves handling cheese blocks, bagging and sealing them, placing them into boxes, securing packages with straps, stacking boxes on pallets, and moving pallets to a staging area with a stand-up forklift. The operator also labels cheese, conducts product checks and sampling according to paperwork guidelines, and helps maintain a clean and hygienic production room.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with rotating weekends. Training pay starts at $19.10 per hour, with the potential to reach $21.60 per hour after mastering all skill levels and experience.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug check.
• Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
• Must be willing to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Place cheese blocks into plastic bags and seal them securely.
• Package sealed cheese blocks into boxes and add straps to secure the packaging.
• Stack packaged cheese neatly on pallets.
• Transport pallets to the staging area using a stand-up forklift.
• Number and label cheese blocks as they move through the Vilutis production line for bagging.
• Ensure cheese boxes are correctly numbered and expertly stacked on pallets.
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygienic condition of the Vilutis Room according to assigned duties.
• Conduct required product checks and follow paperwork guidelines.
• Pull cheese samples and correctly label products for testing.
