About The Position

Gossner Foods is hiring a Cheese Packaging Operator to package and prepare cheese products. The role includes handling cheese blocks weighing 200 to 300 pounds and ensuring they are bagged, sealed, boxed, strapped, stacked, and transported to the staging area using a stand-up forklift. Operators also label cheese, maintain sanitation in the Vilutis Room, perform product checks according to paperwork guidelines, and collect and label cheese samples for testing.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with rotating weekends. Training pay starts at $19.10 per hour, with the potential to reach $21.60 per hour after mastering all skill levels and gaining experience.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass a pre-employment background check and drug check.
• Be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Have written and spoken proficiency in English.
• Be willing to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

• One to two or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Place cheese blocks into plastic bags.
• Securely seal cheese blocks.
• Package sealed cheese blocks into boxes and add straps to secure the packaging.
• Stack packaged cheese neatly on pallets.
• Transport pallets to the staging area using a stand-up forklift.
• Number and label cheese blocks as they move through the Vilutis production line for bagging.
• Ensure cheese boxes are correctly numbered and stacked on pallets.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic Vilutis Room according to assigned duties.
• Conduct product checks and follow paperwork guidelines.
• Collect cheese samples and label products for testing.
