Cheerleading Instructor - After School Program
About The Position
Brains & Motion Education (BAM!) is hiring a Cheer Instructor to lead engaging, high-energy after-school cheer programs for students in grades K–8. The instructor teaches cheerleading fundamentals—including basic stunts, tumbling, jumps, chants, and dance routines—adapted to students’ ages and skill levels. The role promotes confidence, coordination, teamwork, collaboration, and sportsmanship through positive reinforcement and team-building activities. The instructor maintains a safe, structured, and inclusive environment and delivers BAM!’s cheer curriculum in a fun and professional manner while meeting the organization’s standards for instruction and care. Programs are held at assigned schools or community locations.
Requirements
- Associate degree, 48 college credits, or willingness to take a paraprofessional exam with the school district.
- Background in cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, or tumbling/dance-rhythm.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- 1–2 years of experience in coaching and/or sports education.
- Experience and knowledge of cheer, flag football, or track and field.
- Excellent class management skills and ability to work effectively with students in grades K–8.
- Current government-issued photo identification, such as a valid driver’s license or state ID.
- Dependable transportation to assigned program locations as needed.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 20–50 pounds occasionally, with or without accommodations.
