About The Position

This position involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers by accurately checking out their purchases. The role requires regular and reliable attendance, greeting customers, identifying and knowing produce items, distinguishing and processing coupons, collecting correct payment, and completing register records accurately. Additionally, cash security must be maintained, and customer orders bagged. Other duties may be assigned by store management.

Requirements

18 years or older to apply
Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred for Store/Facility Teammates
Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred for Store Support Center Teammates
Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Nice To Haves

Internal Candidates: Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.
Internal Candidates: Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
Greet customers prior to checking their order
Check out customer’s purchases accurately
Identify and know produce items and be able to properly use produce and product codes
Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons
Process manufacturer coupons
Collect correct amount due from customer
Use proper procedure of accepting cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, WIC vouchers and other payment options
Complete register record accurately
Practice and maintain cash security
Bag customer orders
Change register receipt and coupon machine tapes
