About The Position

The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them. Slate Chassis Engineering is looking for a college student with a hands-on problem-solving approach, an interest in Chassis design and its effects on vehicle dynamics, and an interest in working with Chassis Engineers to help bring the Slate truck to production.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor Degree, Masters Degree, or PhD in (Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering)
  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week).
  • Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
  • A hands-on approach to work and problem solving.
  • Familiarity and basic skills using Microsoft SW suite.
  • A sense of urgency: when things need to be done or problems arise, you recognize it, and immediately seek solutions.
  • A team approach: you’re bold enough to reach out and interact with Engineers of all backgrounds, ages, and specialties to get the most out of your experience with Slate and to help Slate succeed.

Nice To Haves

  • Catia and PLM skills are also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate and use our issue management system, called Polarian.
  • Manage and update Polarian issues (Chassis Open Issues), coordinating with Chassis Design Release Engineering team.
  • Transfer DFMEA and DVP documents, tasks, subtasks and test results into Polarian system.
  • Coordinate part shipments and logistics for beta vehicles / lab and vehicle testing parts / etc
  • Help coordinate vehicle and part shipments for Vehicle testing
