About The Position

Pebble is a sustainable living startup defining a new way to live, work and explore from anywhere with a 100% electric, hassle-free RV trailer. Built by a team of experts in both automotive and consumer technology, Pebble combines electrification with cutting-edge automotive technology for a travel trailer experience that removes the hassles RV trailer owners have struggled with for decades. At Pebble, we are building out the future of lighter, more flexible living. We see a world where your home can be anywhere you want to take it. Our team is dedicated to making not just products, but a lifestyle that is truly sustainable. If the idea of building out the future sparks your imagination and intersects with your skills, we’d love to meet you. Role Summary We are looking for a new graduate Mechanical Engineer, Chassis to join our Platform Team. Ownership is one of our core values, and from day one you'll own the design and development of real components on our Chassis platform — with senior engineers to mentor you, review your work, and help you grow. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to take your designs from concept through validation and into production. The ideal candidate is eager to take on ownership, has hands-on exposure to CAD tools (Catia and/or SolidWorks) through coursework, internships, or student projects, and is excited about vehicle chassis systems — axles, wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, and structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (recent graduate or graduating within the next 6 months)
  • 0–2 years of experience; internships, co-ops, and research assistantships count
  • Hands-on experience with a parametric CAD tool (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, NX, or similar) through coursework, projects, or internships; exposure to Catia is a plus
  • Strong fundamentals in mechanical engineering (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, machine design)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ownership mindset — you take responsibility for your work end-to-end

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, or research experience in the automotive, aerospace, or broader vehicle industry
  • Hands-on experience through student engineering teams (FSAE, Baja SAE, Formula Electric, Solar Car, Hyperloop, or similar)
  • Coursework or projects in vehicle dynamics, suspension design, or chassis systems
  • Experience with FEA or simulation tools such as ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or MATLAB/Simulink; exposure to Adams, Abaqus, or Nastran is a plus
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, or drafting standards (ASME Y14.5)
  • Hands-on fabrication skills (machining, welding, 3D printing, sheet metal)
  • Personal projects involving mechanical design, fabrication, or vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical chassis components and systems, with guidance and review from senior engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and test
  • Meet with suppliers and partner with our procurement team to help deliver initial parts, track quality, and resolve issues as they come up
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze data to optimize your designs
  • Create detailed engineering CAD models, drawings, and documentation
  • Perform and support testing & validation of mechanical systems, both in the lab + in the field
  • Troubleshoot and resolve chassis mechanical issues as they arise
  • Stay curious — track industry trends and advancements in chassis engineering
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams
  • Support the team in meeting regulatory standards and safety guidelines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
