About The Position

The Charter Dispatcher is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the livery and charter dispatch department. This role involves handling incoming calls, overseeing equipment and driver assignments, ensuring compliance with policies, and communicating effectively with drivers, clients, and other departments. The dispatcher must be able to work independently, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing procedures while maintaining a proactive approach to all operational duties.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of dispatch experience required.
  • 1 year of customer service experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of transportation industry and dispatch, scheduling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls to the livery and charter dispatch department.
  • Oversee, review, and/or assign equipment utilization, inspect and verify attendance reporting.
  • Arrange for emergency coverage of line runs and charters and be willing to fill in when the need arises.
  • Notify appropriate personnel in case of Operator emergencies and disruptions or cancellations of service.
  • Review complaints and conduct factual investigations, and recommend appropriate course of action.
  • Ensure that all supervisor, chauffeur and driver activities are completed: Driver Logs, passenger count, Ticket procedures.
  • Oversee drivers and chauffeurs and resolve issues and requests.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles based on workload.
  • Ensure all drivers have confirmed upcoming work.
  • Update dispatch grids and trip schedule.
  • Establish rapport for drivers and chauffeurs.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other departments.
  • Communicate with drivers, chauffeurs and clients by email and telephone.
  • Take a proactive approach to all operational duties, including scheduling of vehicles, drivers & hotels and maintaining the maintenance schedule of vehicles.
