4G is a 22-bed unit that cares for a variety of medical and surgical patients, specializing in digestive diseases. The patient population is an even mix of medical and surgical cases, including colorectal and bariatric surgical patients, as well as bowel obstruction, kidney failure, cellulitis, and falls. The unit is an accredited bariatric surgery center that focuses on continuous quality improvement. The team is dedicated to providing a high level of care to enhance patients' and families' lives. Blodgett Hospital, established in 1846, is a community and teaching hospital known for high-quality, compassionate, and personalized medical care. It provides patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private rooms and outpatient services. The Charge RN delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably, demonstrating competency through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation). The role upholds standards of professional performance, including ethical and culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health, striving to achieve optimal outcomes.
