Mental Health Resource Center is seeking Registered Nurses to provide and oversee quality, compassionate care at its Northside and Southside inpatient psychiatric facilities. The crisis stabilization units serve adults and children, and most patients are admitted involuntarily under Florida’s Baker Act. Patients typically stay 3–5 days. These fast-paced facilities offer challenging work in a friendly, team-oriented environment where employees support one another. Registered Nurses handle admissions and discharges, take doctors’ orders, administer medication, and provide routine and emergency medical care and interventions. They assess patients’ needs and problems, plan care with the treatment team, monitor and observe patients, and oversee care provided by Behavioral Healthcare Assistants. Nurses ensure services comply with Quality Assurance Standards for Behavioral Health Services and Joint Commission standards. MHRC provides training that includes Crisis Intervention, CPR, Diagnosis and Behaviors, Ethics, and Confidentiality. MHRC is an approved Continuing Education provider with the Florida Department of Health, and many in-house trainings offer employees free CEUs. This position is at MHRC South’s Adult Unit and is scheduled every Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
