Charge Nurse (RN)
About The Position
Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and resident care in a skilled nursing community. The position provides clinical oversight and supervision of nursing care during assigned shifts, guiding nursing staff and ensuring quality outcomes and compliance with state, federal, and Americare standards. The nurse administers medications and treatments, completes resident assessments, and communicates with residents, families, providers, and leadership. The role may also be known as RN Supervisor, Floor Nurse (RN), Shift Supervisor (RN), or Registered Nurse – Charge Role.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills.
- Commitment to resident-centered care and team collaboration.

- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as needed.
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance.

Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts.
- Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs.
- Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
- Communicate changes in residents’ conditions to families, physicians, and nursing leadership.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Conduct routine rounds to ensure residents’ needs are being met.
- Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect.
- Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicate needs to leadership.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety.
