About The Position

The Charge Nurse, Motherbaby Unit is responsible for providing supervision of workflow and staff for a designated shift, overseeing the efficient functioning of the department. This role ensures the provision of patient care by addressing performance, risk management, and patient, family, and physician issues. The Charge Nurse acts as a role model for compassionate care and fosters an environment focused on healing and wellness. As a clinical nurse, the majority of their time (>50%) is spent coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care, including rounds, assessments, treatments, managing admissions/transfers/discharges, patient/family education, and care coordination.

Requirements

  • Active Kentucky RN license
  • BLS, ACLS and/or other designated unit specific certification training/requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or currently actively pursuing a BSN degree (BSN degree must be completed within 5 years of starting program)
  • Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience
