About The Position

Safari Club International (SCI) is seeking a Chapter Services Specialist to support its chapter network and Regional Representatives within an assigned geographical area. This remote position, with a preference for candidates on the West Coast, requires significant travel (up to 50%) to support existing chapters, promote new chapter growth, and serve as the primary liaison between SCI Headquarters and the chapter network. The role involves providing customer service to members, chapters, employees, and volunteers, primarily in the United States, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Incumbents must be resourceful problem solvers, adept at managing conflicting priorities, and maintain professional decorum. The organization serves 50,000 members and nearly 200 chapters worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business management, or a related field.
  • 3 years of related experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software, to include OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond to needs in a tactful and strategic manner.

  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insurable on SCI policy.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between headquarters and chapters, keeping them informed about important issues and educating them on SCI’s mission and needs.
  • Send newsletters containing SCI-related business, project information, or other chapter management topics.
  • Monitor chapter compliance per SCI by-laws and collect annual reports from each chapter.
  • Monitor, encourage, and enforce compliance with chapter requirements as established by the Board of Directors and SCI Bylaws.
  • Use the iMIS program to monitor, track, and report on chapter compliance with annual reports, Form 990 filings, 30% donations, and all other chapter requirements.
  • Stimulate growth within the Chapter Network, responsible for starting no less than 4 new chapters each fiscal year per Chapter Service region.
  • Develop, promote, and implement new and existing Chapter Service programs, including Regional Training Seminars, in coordination with the Chapter Services Team.
  • Develop vision, curriculum, and facilitate training of Regional Reps, ensuring Regional Training Seminars are taught effectively and timely.
  • Prepare training agendas and suggested materials for Regional Training Seminars and report outcomes to the direct supervisor.
  • Assist in recruiting vendors for fundraising catalogs.
  • Attend chapter banquets, board meetings, and fundraising events, assisting with planning and set-up, selling memberships, addressing the audience, selling raffle tickets, and working games and auctions.
  • Evaluate the success of events and offer suggestions for improvement, reporting results to the direct supervisor and chapter president.
  • Report daily schedules using the corporate scheduling program/system to ensure transparency and optimal customer service.
  • Ensure each chapter knows its Chapter Service Specialist and their responsibilities.
  • Monitor, track, and ensure that every chapter within the region is listed in the Corporate Database.
  • Monitor, track, and ensure that each chapter reports any and all changes involving individual Chapter Board of Directors.
  • Monitor and promote the "value added" of the Chapter Service program to chapters using data and results from instituted programs, in coordination with the direct supervisor.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed by the supervisor.
  • Monitor and actively seek ideas from other chapter-based organizations for positive chapter involvement, recruitment, and retention.
  • Mentor new chapters during SCI Board Meetings, coordinating expectations and providing information.
  • Communicate with chapters on a regular basis (at minimum quarterly), working with the chapter liaison or chapter membership liaison to maintain healthy, compliant chapters.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Attend meetings and events, including the annual convention as appropriate.
