Tyson Chaplains provide compassionate, spiritual care that explores Team Members’ diverse beliefs, honors their experiences, and empowers them with meaningful resources for their personal lives and careers. This role involves a consistent physical presence and compassionate care throughout assigned facilities, adhering to and modeling safety protocols. Chaplains are expected to actively engage with Team Members across all accessible work areas and break locations, including but not limited to the production floor, Team Member office areas, shipping docks, hatcheries, and feed mills. They provide spiritual and emotional guidance to Team Members and their immediate families while respecting people's unique beliefs, values, and experiences, maintaining a judgment-free presence inclusive of all faiths, sexual orientations, and ethnicities. The position requires counseling distressed and bereaved individuals and families, responding to critical incident situations, and maintaining confidentiality (with exceptions for risk of injury). Chaplains collaborate with HR leadership to offer educational and social service opportunities, make hospital and home visits, and provide appropriate presence at memorials and funerals. They cultivate a network of referral resources, write articles/presentations as requested, and serve as advisors to management on matters of religion, morals/ethics, and Team Member morale. Maintaining moral and ethical character and conduct is essential, as is keeping accurate records and writing required reports.
