About The Position

Chaplains are frontline staff fulfilling MCHAP’s mission and Christian ministry by using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. They convey faith, mission, and purpose, and interact with companies, employees, and the community in a manner that reflects personal and spiritual discipline. The role involves regular visits to company worksites, usually weekly, to build relationships of trust and friendship with employees. Chaplains may also visit employees or immediate family members in hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, family residences, jails, or other locations where care can be provided. They may offer confidential pastoral discussions, referrals to specialized assistance, grief support, help with funerals, support following serious injuries or deaths, and post-termination care. They may facilitate—but do not lead—spiritual enrichment activities, provide literature and other resources, represent companies in appropriate ministry-related situations, and participate in new employee orientation. Other duties within the scope of the company agreement may be performed with permission from the Executive Director of Operations. Assigned hours are generally consistent from week to week, but there are no guaranteed minimum hours, and positional needs vary based on Chaplain availability and client requirements. This is a remote field position; the work environment depends on client worksites and may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes with varying temperature, noise, and light exposure. A pre-employment background check is required.
