About The Position

Corporate Chaplains of America is seeking a mission-driven Workplace Chaplain to provide confidential employee care, spiritual support, pastoral care, and crisis response services within assigned businesses and organizations in Salem, Corvallis, and Springfield. The role is intended for individuals with a servant-leadership mindset who are passionate about relational ministry outside traditional church settings. Chaplains serve employees of all backgrounds through caring relationships, emotional support, encouragement, prayer, crisis care, and an ongoing workplace presence. This part-time position is 5 hours per week and offers an annual salary. It involves regular onsite visits to assigned workplaces, confidential support for employees and family members, and response to crises and major life events. The work combines office, industrial, and field-based environments and requires frequent local travel.

Requirements

At least 5–7 years of full-time secular workplace experience; church-only experience does not satisfy this requirement. A business degree may reduce the required years of experience.
Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies or a related ministry field from an accredited college or university.
Strong Christian faith and commitment to servant leadership.
Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, office, and other workplace environments.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive employee situations and crises.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, internet platforms, and mobile communication tools.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to visit various workplace environments regularly and respond to urgent employee care needs as required.

Nice To Haves

Master of Divinity (MDiv) or advanced ministry degree.
Denominational ordination.
Previous ministry, chaplaincy, pastoral care, counseling, social work, employee assistance, caregiving, or ministry leadership experience.
Experience supporting individuals during crisis situations, grief, or major life challenges.

Responsibilities

Build caring relationships with assigned employees and workplace leaders, promoting a missionary mindset.
Provide regular onsite workplace chaplain care and relationship-based ministry within assigned businesses.
Offer confidential emotional and spiritual support to employees and their family members.
Provide prayer, encouragement, practical care, and compassionate presence when welcomed.
Respond to crises, hospitalizations, grief situations, and family emergencies.
Build and maintain strong two-way communication and trust with employees, company leadership, and CCA leadership.
Follow the CCA Team Member Handbook and organizational training materials.
Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, humility, and servant leadership in all interactions.
Maintain accurate communication and timely follow-up with employees and workplace contacts.
Display a positive team-player attitude with fellow chaplains, managers, and senior leadership.
Comply with requests and direction from senior CCA leadership.
