About The Position

Chaplains serve as frontline staff fulfilling MCHAP’s mission and Christian ministry by using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. This part-time field position has hours that are generally consistent week to week, but does not guarantee a minimum number of hours; needs vary according to chaplain availability and client requirements. The Chaplain builds relationships with employees through regular worksite visits and provides pastoral care and support to employees and their immediate family members at locations where care is needed. Support may include confidential discussions, referrals to specialized assistance, funeral support, visits to jails and care facilities, help with serious incidents, and post-termination care. The Chaplain may also provide relevant literature and resources, participate in new employee orientation, and support spiritual enrichment activities. The position represents the company to clients and customers when appropriate to the ministry services involved and may take on other duties requested by company leadership, with Executive Director of Operations permission and within the Letter of Agreement. The role requires spiritual maturity and commitment to Christian ministry, the ability to work in an interdisciplinary and interfaith setting, strong communication and listening skills, sound judgment with sensitive and confidential matters, emotional stability in stressful circumstances, accurate documentation, computer proficiency, and an active state driver’s license with state-minimum auto insurance. A pre-employment background check is required. This is a remote position in the field; the work environment depends on client worksites and may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes with varying temperature, noise, and light exposure.
