About The Position

Acorns is exploring a program to help service professionals, beginning with barbers and stylists, build savings and wealth from their daily income. The Channel Sales Lead is an individual contributor responsible for developing industry partnerships that bring the program to barbershops and salons. The role combines partnerships and industry relationship-building and requires credibility and an active network in the beauty and personal-care industry. This is a contract role requiring 40 hours per week, expected to last six months, with potential extension or conversion based on business needs. It is field-based, with occasional travel for partner meetings and industry events. Acorns is remote-first, with flexible remote work and optional access to its Irvine, California office. The role will own partner relationships and pipeline development across beauty and barber industry organizations and businesses, structure and activate partnerships, represent Acorns at industry events, and share partner and professional feedback with cross-functional teams to refine the product experience.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience selling into or working within the salon, barbershop, or beauty industry, such as as a sales representative, distributor, brand representative, or franchise consultant.
  • An existing network of beauty-industry contacts that can be activated immediately.
  • A track record of closing relationship-driven partnerships or sales with business owners, distributors, or franchise groups.
  • Experience working independently and managing a personal pipeline and cadence across multiple partners.
  • Ability to learn Acorns' product well enough to pitch it credibly to partners; a finance background is not required.
  • Strong organizational skills, including pipeline tracking, follow-up management, and results reporting.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for partner meetings and industry events.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a builder's mindset for developing a new program.
  • Belief that work is tied to one's life mission and an optimistic outlook on the potential for societal change through financial wellness.

Responsibilities

  • Own a pipeline of partners across the beauty and barber ecosystem, moving prospects from initial conversations to signed partnerships.
  • Develop relationships with supply distributors, salon chains and franchises, booth-rental brands, booking and POS platforms, and barber culture and tool brands.
  • Use existing industry relationships—including distributors, booth-rental chains, franchise groups, beauty schools, trade associations, and influencers—to open doors and secure multi-location and franchise partnerships.
  • Structure co-marketing, revenue-sharing, education-content, affiliate, and embedded-distribution partnerships, working with Acorns Legal and Compliance on terms.
  • Activate partner channels, including sales teams, marketing channels, and educational content, to drive sign-ups, activation, and tip volume.
  • Represent Acorns at trade shows, beauty conventions, and stylist community events to build brand awareness and the partner pipeline.
  • Maintain the partner tracker and report pipeline, outreach, and results to Acorns leadership.
  • Work with Product, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance to refine the pitch, onboarding flow, and QR code experience based on feedback from partners and professionals.
  • Gather feedback from barbers, stylists, and partners to inform product development for the service industry.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate.
  • Flexible work location.
  • Talented and motivated team members who care about one another, the mission, and customers.
  • Opportunity to create a new world and address societal challenges through meaningful work.
