Certified Welding Inspector
About The Position
Froehling & Robertson, Inc. (F&R) is currently looking for an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). NDT Level II qualifications per ASNT SNT-TC-1-A in ultrasonic shear wave testing (UT), liquid dye penetrant testing (PT), and/or magnetic particle testing (MT) are desirable, but not required. This position will require some travel and will involve performing bolting inspections, structural steel framing inspections, and visual welding inspections on commercial and industrial buildings, bridges, or other steel structures to determine compliance with applicable codes, standards and project specifications. Performing nondestructive testing, such as MT, PT, and UT, if properly qualified, is also part of the role. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent, 3 years or more of experience in performing steel inspection to include welded and bolted connections for fabrication, assembly or erection, and a current AWS CWI. Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written), the ability to perform logical problem solving, multi-task, meet deadlines, work independently or in a team environment, learn new concepts quickly, lift up to 50 lbs, and possess attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are also required. The candidate must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
Requirements
