About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for our 1st Shift in Fenton, Michigan. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends. Miller Industries designs, engineers, and manufactures custom products in Fenton and Burton, Michigan, and provides engineering support in El Paso, Texas. Their divisions include Miller Fabricated Systems, Flex Air, Miller Industries Representatives, and MI Service Group, offering custom steel fabrication, commercial and industrial HVAC systems, and modular mechanical and electrical systems. They are a primary supplier to automotive, healthcare, institutional, and semiconductor manufacturers worldwide. Miller Industries is a family-operated business committed to making quality products and supporting employee growth and development.

Requirements

  • Certified Welding Inspector.
  • High school diploma required, with a preference for advanced education.
  • NDT Level ll preferred.
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • A minimum of five years of hands-on welding experience.
  • Extensive understanding of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and manufacturing processes is essential.
  • Expertise in maintaining detailed documentation, inspections, and quality control.
  • Proficient in MS Office and adept at leveraging technology for documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections and assessments of manufacturing activities, including part alignment and visual evaluations.
  • Guarantee adherence to welding standards and documentations, specifically AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
  • Facilitate welder qualification tests, including minor destructive evaluations.
  • Manage records and reports related to welding inspections and process compliance.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and compliance by examining welding equipment daily.
  • Analyze fabrication blueprints and incorporate them into quality check procedures.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the company's Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
