Certified Veterinary Technician – Oncology - Sign on bonus!
About The Position
Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join its Oncology Team at its specialty and emergency hospital in Middletown, Connecticut. The technician will work closely with oncology specialists to provide advanced treatments and therapies, support patients through their treatment plans, and build relationships with patients and their families. The position is part of a collaborative, team-focused specialty environment, with opportunities to learn and grow alongside specialists in multiple disciplines. The role is full-time, scheduled four days per week in 10-hour shifts, with shared holiday coverage required. Pay is $25.00–$32.00 per hour based on experience and education. Additional compensation is available for VTS-credentialed technicians, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible CVTs.
Requirements
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential is required for sign-on bonus eligibility.
- Strong venipuncture and phlebotomy skills.
- Experience placing and maintaining IV catheters.
- Strong anesthesia knowledge and patient-monitoring experience.
- Safe and effective patient restraint skills.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology.
- Oncology and/or chemotherapy experience.
- CPR certification or training.
- Experience with EzyVet and/or SmartFlow.
- Specialty or emergency medicine experience.
- VTS credential.
- Passion for continued learning and professional development.
