About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with a focus on surgery to join Dugan's Veterinary Hospital in Aurora, CO. Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Colorado CVT state license.
  • Experience in anesthesia & analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Experience in dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy.
  • Experience in diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Experience in nursing & triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Experience in workflow leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
  • Work to the top of your license, following AAHA utilization guidance.
  • Utilize skills in anesthesia and analgesia, including IV catheterization, pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Perform dentistry procedures such as full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures including high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Provide nursing care and triage for critical patients, including advanced wound care and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Lead tech appointments, team huddles, and mentor assistants/externs.
  • Participate in a predictable weekend rotation.
