About The Position
Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for their Ambulatory Surgery department. This is a full-time, day shift position. The role involves preparing the surgical suite, assisting surgeons with instruments and supplies during procedures, and helping with patient positioning and draping. Maintaining instrument organization and counts throughout surgery is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a surgical technologist.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
