About The Position

Medworks is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical procedures across hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers in the greater Richmond, VA, area. This is a mobile role requiring travel between healthcare facilities. The Surgical Technologist supports surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting during procedures to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Requirements

• Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (NBSTSA or equivalent)
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile technique
• Ability to work in fast-paced clinical environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between facilities

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of surgical technologist experience
• Experience in urology, gynecology, or general surgery
• Experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery settings

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Ensure proper setup for scheduled procedures
• Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique standards
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and pass instruments efficiently
• Operate and monitor specialty surgical equipment, including lasers
• Support surgical team workflow and patient safety
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking
• Complete required documentation and track equipment usage accurately
