About The Position
Physicians’ Surgery Center of Tidewater is seeking a part-time Certified Surgical Technologist for its multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center in Virginia Beach. The center is affiliated with United Surgical Partners International (USPI), whose mission is to treat each patient and family as its own. The role supports the facility’s mission, vision, and operational goals by assisting with surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and collaborating with the surgical team to provide safe, efficient, high-quality patient care. The Surgical Technologist scrubs procedures, demonstrates clinical competence, and works with leadership to support safety, quality, customer service, and financial outcomes. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, with day-shift hours based on the surgical schedule. Weekends and holidays are not required.
Requirements
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and surgical patient management.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their application.
- Ability to make independent decisions and quickly adapt to changing patient conditions.
- Excellent customer-service, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality of care, and exceptional patient care.

- Previous experience in a surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instruments.
- Scrub and assist during surgical procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
- Ensure proper handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Adhere to infection-control and safety standards.
- Support facility goals related to quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and vendors.
- Collaborate with leadership to support safety, quality, customer service, and financial outcomes.
