About The Position

This role involves acting as the "right hand" to surgeons in the Main Operating Room, anticipating their needs with elite focus and a proactive mindset to ensure instruments or supplies are ready before requested. The position also requires being a critical guardian of the patient’s journey, ensuring safety, dignity, and clinical excellence through precision positioning and meticulous draping. Additionally, the role demands ownership of the sterile field with masterfully organized workflows and maintaining 100% accuracy in instrument and sponge counts to ensure patient safety from incision to closure.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
