About The Position
Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Maintains accountability for providing surgical instruments to the surgical team and coordinates surgical patient care with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Performs duties and responsibilities consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards. This is a career-ladder position; the level at which the successful candidate is hired will be determined by education, certification, and relevant experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; proof of education may be requested.
- Non-certified applicants may be considered with acceptable surgical technology experience.
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Understand written and spoken English.
- Safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
Responsibilities
- Provide surgical instruments to the surgical team and maintain accountability for them.
- Coordinate care of the surgical patient with other team members.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
