About The Position

Ascension St. Vincent is seeking a Full Time Evening Certified Surgical Technologist for their Main OR department in Indianapolis, IN. This role is crucial in facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for preparing the surgical suite with sterile drapes, solutions, instruments, and supplies. They will also hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery, assist with patient preparation, transport, positioning, and draping, and maintain and track instruments throughout procedures.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
