Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Minimum 1 year experience with scrub skills
  • Prior experience with sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with spine and craniofacial surgeries

Responsibilities

  • The surgical technologist is an integral part of the surgical health care team and functions in the role of scrub person.
  • The ST works under the supervision of the registered nurse and surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
  • This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
