About The Position

Functions as a professional under the direct and continuous supervision of qualified professional registered nurses and in accordance with established procedures and aseptic principles functions as a first scrub/scrub assistant in selected cases to render quality service to patients of all ages and surgeons during operative procedures. The role assists with the preparation of sterile/unsterile supplies and equipment, assumes responsibility for the proper care of all supplies and equipment, transports patients and assists with transferring patients from stretcher to table and vice versa, and assists with lifting and positioning patients. The Certified Surgical Technologist reports unusual occurrences to the Operating Room Director or designee and contributes to the efficient and productive operations of the Operating Room. Cross-training between Main OR and Ambulatory Unit is also required.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
Certified CST from NBSTSA.
BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross required.
Uncertified Techs have 18 months to provide proof of certification (as of 10/1/2023).
THOfNE gives 1 chance to pass licensure exam.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year of scrub experience preferred.
