About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Neuro-Cardiac position is in the Operating Room (OR) department. This is a part-time, days position, scheduled for 2 days a week, Monday through Friday, with some call and holiday requirements. The role involves facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures by preparing the surgical suite, managing instruments and supplies, and assisting surgeons. Requirements
- High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year neuro or cardiac experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
