About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technician II (CST-II) facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures in the operating room. The technician prepares the surgical suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies; ensures that equipment and instruments are in good working order; performs the scrub technician role; and uses aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field. The role also supports efficient completion of the surgery schedule, maintains an organized work area, participates in daily unit duties, and requires competency in at least three specialty areas.

Frye Regional Medical Center is a 355-bed acute care hospital with an 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers. It is part of Lifepoint Health, a community-based healthcare network.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification in Surgical Technology through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
• Competency in at least three specialty areas.
