About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technician II (CST-II) in the Operating Room facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Frye Regional Medical Center is a 355-bed acute care hospital in the foothills of North Carolina, with an 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers. The role prepares the operating suite, performs scrub technician duties, maintains sterile technique, and supports efficient completion of the surgery schedule. The position requires competence in at least three specialty areas.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Certification for Surgical Technology with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
Competence in at least three specialty areas.

Responsibilities

Prepare the surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Ensure equipment and instruments are in good working order.
Perform the role of the scrub technician.
Use principles of aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field.
Facilitate efficient completion of the surgery schedule.
Maintain an organized work area and participate in daily unit duties.
