About The Position

In this technical, fast-paced role, the Surgical Technician collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient care. The position involves understanding the procedure being performed, ensuring that necessary equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available, communicating the surgeon’s needs, and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures. The Surgical Technician also participates in preparing and turning over the operating room for cases. Methodist Celina Medical Center is a new full-service hospital serving Celina and surrounding communities. Its campus includes a four-story medical center opening with 51 beds, with plans for expansion, as well as a 40,000-square-foot medical office building. Planned services include cardiology, women’s services, orthopedics, and robotic surgery.

Requirements

High school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
At least one year of prior experience and must have worked as a Surgical Technologist prior to 09/01/2009 if not a graduate of a Surgical Technology Program.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program, military-trained, or an associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
