About The Position
Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine. The system includes Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC) in Lewiston, a 250-bed, not-for-profit regional referral hospital, as well as Bridgton Hospital, Rumford Hospital, and the Maine College of Health Professions. The Operating Room Tech prepares sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintains the sterile field during cases, and provides surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during procedures. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 8-hour shifts in Lewiston, Maine. The listed pay range is $26.56 to $30.31, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates, subject to eligibility and payout terms.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or related experience, is required for new hires effective April 2014.
- Graduate of an ORT training program, or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years of experience; surgical-setting experience is preferred.
- Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties, such as GYN, general surgery, and plastics.
- Experience scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas, such as orthopedics, neurology, ENT, and urology.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
