About The Position

This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining the operating room environment to ensure patient safety and surgical team efficiency. The Certified Surgical Tech will clean, set up, and organize the operating room with sterile drapes, solutions, and instruments. They will assist the surgical team in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients, anticipating the surgeon's needs by handing over necessary instruments, medications, and supplies. A key responsibility is maintaining a highly organized sterile field, continuously tracking all items to prevent retained foreign objects, and strictly adhering to aseptic techniques for successful surgical outcomes.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date OR Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Clean, set up, and organize the operating room with sterile drapes, solutions, and both sterile and non-sterile instruments customized to the specific surgical procedure.
Assist the surgical team in safely preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients to ensure comfort, optimal surgical access, and maintained sterile boundaries.
Anticipate the surgeon's needs by efficiently handing over required instruments, medications, and supplies during the procedure to maintain surgical momentum.
Maintain a highly organized sterile field and continuously track, count, and monitor all instruments and supplies throughout the procedure to prevent retained foreign objects.
Strictly adhere to aseptic techniques to facilitate the overall safety, efficiency, and successful outcome of each surgical intervention.
